With this in mind, G-iron found an attentive and highly engaged partner in ABB’s Genoa office. The technical discussions opened the door to an exciting opportunity: engaging ABB Oy in Helsinki, a center specialized in the design and manufacturing of frequency converters, for a focused technical collaboration.

From Genoa to Helsinki

On Friday, February 6, G-iron’s team landed in Helsinki—where temperatures reached a remarkable -16°C! Just a few hours later, the team was already at ABB’s production facility, ready to begin an intensive technical exchange.

G-iron met with ABB designers and technical experts to discuss its specific needs and share its experience in magnetic impact simulations and magnetic induction mitigation. The discussions provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge, explore technical challenges, and identify potential approaches to improving the design and performance of frequency converter systems.

The visit also included a tour of the manufacturing area, giving G-iron’s team first-hand insight into how the converters are designed and constructed. Seeing the production process up close added an important practical dimension to the technical discussions and strengthened G-iron’s understanding of the technology.
