RF Meters
What RF Meters Measure
- Frequency Range: Most consumer and commercial meters scan specific bands, effective measurement range of 200 MHz to 8 GHz (Pro II), 10 GHz to 20 GHz (NEW Satelite Meter, Coming 2027) and 20 GHz to 40 GHz (Pro mmW) depending on the model.
- Units of Measurement: Readings are typically displayed in volts per meter (V/m), milli-amperes per meter (mA/m), or microwatts per square meter (μW/m²).
- Peak vs. Average: Meters often track instantaneous, average, and peak hold values—with peak readings frequently used to spot pulsed signals from digital transmissions
- RF Meters Measure Radio Frequency, Microwave, And High-Frequency Electromagnetic Fields.
RF Sources
Cell towers, smart meters, Wi-Fi (e.g. routers and modems), Bluetooth devices (e.g. printers, headsets, wireless keyboards), cellular & cordless phones, remote controls (e.g. for your garage or car), microwave ovens, and any other device which transmits wirelessly.
